What a week!!!

We managed to survive four major celebrations in our house last weekend....

On Thursday, Ben and I celebrated our 5th Anniversary - it's so hard to believe that it's been five wonderful years. We had a great dinner at Capital Grill and are already looking forward to a little vacation just the two of us this fall!!!

It's fun to look back at the picture of us on our wedding day and a picture of us now and think of all that has changed in our lives since June 18, 2004!!!!

Will turned 6 months on Friday - At the doctor, he weighed 16 pounds, 15  ounces (40%) and was 27 inches long (90%).  He is days away from crawling and is turning into a little boy right before our eyes.

On Saturday, we officially entered the world of "2's" as Paige celebrated her birthday.  We had a great day up in Bethany - starting with blueberry pancakes and ending with cake and ice cream.  Paige definitely knew it was her birthday this year which made it so much fun.  She would not nap - we think she didn't want to miss a thing.  When asked how old she is, she can say, "2" (very proudly at that!).  Here are a few pictures of her special day....

Playing with her new doll house - her new favorite thing!

Finally, on Sunday, we celebrated Father's Day - our attempt at a family picture perfectly depicts our life with a brand new 2 year old:)  Paige just did not want to partake in the picture, but we thought we'd try anyways - augh!!!

Young Love

Seriously, what are we going to do with this girl?  She's technically not even two yet and she's already falling in love.  I'm a little worried for those teenage years already!  This is Paige's good friend Liam and they really do love each other.  They spend lots of time playing together and I managed to capture one of their "special" moments together :)

We've had lots of rain here the last few weeks so we made plans to go to the Children's Museum last Friday. Of course, it was the one day of the month that it hasn't rained:) Paige always loves going there and playing - it burns lots of energy, which is a good thing these days!!! Here are a few pictures of our play date at the museum with Liam and his sister, Kate.

A mess and a sitter

Paige's new favorite thing to say is, "Mama, look!! Mess!!!!" No joke - it appears that we have been living with a bunch of messes and my little girl is picking up on it. She looks outside our patio door to a mound of dirt and yells, "Mess!" We have been anxiously waiting for our patio to be installed - two weeks of a dirt mound and it appears that our permit should finally be ready to go by the end of this week. (We are learning that the landscaping industry is very interesting) We're hopeful for no more mess and a patio for our family to enjoy by next week. We are so excited!!

Here's a picture of the mess outside:

And here's a picture of my mess in the garage. I made a "mom mistake" this week and rammed (not even backed) into my mom's car. She graciously came over to watch my kids for an hour so I could go run some errands. I must have been so excited for my free hour and completely forgot about the car packed directly behind mine. I honestly didn't know whether to laugh or cry.   Paige walked into the garage and of course commented with her, "Mama, mess!" quote....Augh!!!  I am very thankful that I was the only one involved in this fender bender and that the kids weren't in the car with me.  Thank goodness for my wonderful husband who made arrangements for me from a far to get it fixed.

On a positive note, Will is growing up before our eyes. He is not officially crawling but has mastered the art of scooting across our entire floor. It's hilarious to watch him rock back and forth on his knees and then scoot, scoot, scoot. I am not sure what it is about our Ferwerda babies but they just want to move. Paige crawled at six months and it appears that Will is on the same track. Will is now sitting on his own and is loving it. Here's a picture of our proud little guy:
